Benjamin Boyd:

After landing in New South Wales in 1842, entrepreneur Benjamin Boyd became involved in a range of business, pastoral, shipping, whaling and other mercantile activities and founded the township of Boyd Town before leaving the colony in disgrace less than a decade later.
