HIDDEN GEMS:

Although much of the building's beauty is hidden behind 1960s alterations, Eden's Australasia retains many stunning original features.

Brick chimneys and fire places, timber windows and panelled doors, wide moulded skirting, architraves and jambs, Wunderlich pressed metal ceilings, locally milled flooring and French doors remain and a stunning New Zealand kauri pine staircase, cornice work and arched vestibule still grace the foyer. A large part of the magnificent original parapet also survives behind the modern brick addition - all these just waiting to be revealed.
