BUILDING AN ICON:

An local icon for more than a century, Eden's Australasia is a significant part of the town's built heritage.

Construction started in December 1904, with workmen carting "...large quantities..." of bricks and providing employment for "...quite a small army of men..." Occupying a "...commanding position...", completion of the "...handsome addition...". was reported in October 1905. Local media said that it was a "...credit to the contractor...and an ornament to the town..." Eden's Australasia opened its doors for business in January 1906.
